MDB-32. TRANSLATION OF NON-CANONICAL OPEN READING FRAMES AS A CANCER CELL SURVIVAL MECHANISM IN CHILDHOOD MEDULLOBLASTOMA

چکیده

Abstract High-risk medulloblastoma is one of the most recalcitrant pediatric cancers, and children with MYC-amplified disease frequently succumb to relapsed disease. Extensive analyses coding genome in this have characterized additional somatic events some subsets patients, though tumors lack targetable mutations do not yield insights regarding their aggressive behavior. At same time, known exhibit extensive rewiring translational control MYC-driven tumors, consistent recent genetic evidence that impact transcription factor on mRNA translation may be critical aspect its function during tumorigenesis. Therefore, propose previously unknown mechanisms for disease, we investigated functional non-canonical open reading frames (ORFs) across model systems. We demonstrate these ORFs are commonly translated systems patient correlating subtype. Using genome-wide CRISPR/Cas9 screens, found essential cell survival describe widespread reliance upstream (uORFs) particular. From these, identify a uORF ASNSD1 gene selectively upregulated required maintenance by coordinating prefoldin-like complex, poorly understood complex implicated post-translational control. Together, our findings provide blueprint oncogenic uORFs as mediators both and, extension, human cancers more broadly.

Upstream open reading frames as regulators of mRNA translation.

Continuing discoveries of new and surprising mechanisms of gene regulation suggest that our understanding of this complex and ubiquitous biological process remains incomplete. Emerging examples illustrate that many and perhaps all genes are regulated at multiple steps including transcription, posttranscriptional processing, nuclear export and localization, stability, and translation of mature m...

today, information technology and computers are indispensable tools of any profession and translation technologies have become an indispensable part of translator’s workstation. with the increasing demands for high productivity and speed as well as consistency and with the rise of new demands for translation and localization, it is necessary for translators to be familiar with market demands an...

A Non-Standard Injection Between Canonical Frames

In this paper the ultraalter properties of canonical frames are used to produce a non-standard map between canonical frames of diierent cardinalities. While this map is not a p-morphism, it is presented as a step towards the full understanding of canonical structures.

critical period effects in foreign language learning:the influence of maturational state on the acquisition of reading, writing, and grammar in english as a foreign language

since the 1960s the age effects on learning both first and second language have been explored by many linguists and applied linguists (e.g lennerberg, 1967; schachter, 1996; long, 1990) and the existence of critical period for language acquisition was found to be a common ground of all these studies. in spite of some common findings, some issues about the impacts of age on acquiring a second or...
